Mammals in nature have been birthing this way since the beginning of time. Yet us humans seem to have a side of us that like to focus on all the negative stories and experiences and represent these as the norm. These scenes, stories and thoughts get imprinted in our subconscious and sit at the back of our mind ready to jump up and remind us when we have a little nagging doubt, we can’t help them but we can overcome them.
Finally consider how many lovely, happy stories you have heard from people who have loved their birth, no matter what happened during it. They could have had the ideal birth that they wanted, there might have been an unexpected change of direction or they may have needed a little extra help. It may be a home birth or even a caesarian. Have you heard anyone say I loved my birth and I would do it all again right now?
